Mollyocket ghost and her treasure

Local legends made West Paris

famous. Around 1762, a hunter

from New Gloucester by the name

of Captain Snow was killed by

Native Americans after Snow shot

and killed their chief. A spot on

the Little Androscoggin River still

bears his name: Snow’s Falls.

In the early 1800s, Mollyockett, a

member of the Pequawkets and a

medical healer, was denied shelter

during a vicious storm by a white

man at this same location.

Legend says that Mollyocket

cursed the white men living on

this spot -- in perpetuity.

Travel east on route 219, turning south on Route 26 – This

junction is Trap Corner (Mollyockett is said to have buried

a treasure here!)

Legand has it each year also there will be a flood or fire at The River Restaurants across the street at snow's falls.Every year there is either a flood or a fire. Its really strange.

Just a little part of history from my home town.

Josh Yes there was a train station that I know of. If you look closely at the pic where the people are standing it was over that way. I am not sure about where they are standing it kinda looks like it once was a foundation too for something.
